COVID-19 and Arlington Heights Veterinary Hospital

March 13, 2020

Arlington Heights would like to address some of the potential concerns you may have regarding COVID -19 and your pet.

According to the AVMA we do not have a clear answer at this time, whether SARS-CoV-2 can infect pets. Infectious disease experts indicate there is no evidence to suggest that pet dogs or cats can be a source of infection, including spreading COVID-19 to people. More investigation is underway and as we learn more, we will update you.

Arlington Heights will be implementing additional disinfecting measures, such as hand sanitizing stations in every exam room and in our lobby. We ask that you do not shake hands with our staff and to keep a respectful distance .

We recommend checking the following websites listed below for the most up to date and accurate information. If you have any additional questions regarding your pet’s current state of health, please direct them to your Veterinarian.
